I'm driving my rig up.Took like 7 1/2 hours last time to get there. That and like 3 tanks of gas.Still undecided bout draging up the boggers.Might cost me another 1/2 tank in gas to bring em.

If I drove the YJ from here....that's about how much gas it would take. It's cheaper for me to trailer it.

I was gonna say it's cheaper to flat tow or trailer it....but we know how my last bout of flat towing went.

Guess I better put the top back on the CJ. Plan on leaving from the Kalamazoo area Thus. around 3-4. Still haven't figured out if I'm driving the motorhome & camping or driving up the pick-up. Can't wait. I need to get a way.

Well, right now the forcast for Monday says in the 50's. I'll have my jeep in Traverse City by monday to get my ox locker in, waiting for it to be shipped. I can't wait for this trip whatever weather.

Do you even have windows?

My quad doesn't have windows, but it has a front windshield. I'll just bundle up.

well its not a true snorkel. It is an induction thing I made, that intakes the air from the cowl area. I do not go through water that is windshield deep, so I just made it high enough to get it out of the engine compartment, and on top of the cowl. I dont like snorkels that run up the side of the windshield, because with my wheeling style, I seem to be attracted to trees, especially in that area and would be concerned with breakage

The snorkel basically was meant to be as cheap as possible. I think I spent 10 bucks on it. I used a air cleaner box off my Chevy 350 that had an adapter from an oval air intake to a 4" circle. I mounted that to my carb, and sealed it up. Then I attached some dryer type hose, only about three feet, painted it black, and ran it through my firewall, and then by the passenger side cowl. I then used a roof vent hood I got, mounted it backwards, and did some fiberglass work to blend it into my body. I had that mounted backwards so that I didnt drive down the road when its raining and intake water I can do about 4 feet of water in an emergency if needed, however, it would mostly benefit in that initial splash when you "drop" in. It looks good, and will serve its purpose. It is also out of the way of trees and things. I will take pics tomorrow

Just thought I would share a quick pic of my new shoes and beadlocks (37" Iroks). Next I need some more wheelbase!
