Convert Rear Dana 44 offset to Center???

I recently purchased a pair of Dana 44s (Frt/Bck) that came out of a CJ (I guess), they have the 6-bolt pattern axles (they were advertised as super heavy duty). My question is: the rear axle is offset, is it worth it to convert it to a center type for my 93 YJ or not. I've been looking online for Dana 44 tubes and such without any luck. Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Bill

No it isn't.

Just buy a centered rear D44

Those axles came from some kind of 1/2 ton full-size Jeep that had a Quadra-trac drivetrain, like a Wagoneer.

I agree with Cooter. Unless you have tube stock and a way to do the work, just go buy a centered rear D44. Sell the offset one in the Forums on ifsja.org, or you can also try pushing it on Samurai sites. Zook owners like those. I would also list it on misfitoffroad.com.
