got it down to two

well the Ram's I was looking at all sort of sold and have not been able to find anything lately thats dodge and a good deal.

I found a white 2001 f-250 crew cab 4x4 w/ cap. has the 5.4 with 67,000 miles on it. looks pretty clean but was in a front end accident where the frame rails had to be tweaked a bit back into shape.

Tommrow I am looking at a 2002 Chevy 2500hd. extended cab w/ a 6.0.

so which one would you get eh?

both of them come pre-installed w/ pussy magnets

both are asking 14k, but the white f-250 seems desperate and willing to go down. the chevy i do not know yet so i'll find out if hes obo or firm on the price

if the frame's been tweaked Stray away. yea you can straighten them but they will never be 100% again nor will the metal be as strong once its been stressed..

Does the chevy have comparable miles? Was the chevy in an accident? If the miles are close, I would definanly go with the chevy, because it is one year newer, and it has never been in an accident.

you can find 1999-2001 powerstrokes for 14K.... no way I would spend that much for a 6 year old gas motor that has been in a wreck

chevy has 40k on it. I have no talked to the owner in person or ran a carfax so I am not sure if it has seen an accident or not.

yes but i can get this for probably 12k.

all power strokes I see in this price range (that are crew cab too) all have 150k+. may be fine for the motor but the rest of the truck is starting to wear out at that point.

Im going to go test drive it tommrow and see how it is. most likely pass on it because of the accident though.

I'm a Ford guy, but in this case I would go for the Chevy.

Ty,

I would stay away from the F250 they are sweet trucks but the accident thing sounds like it might have some issues. The Chevy sounds nice, but seems kinda steep on the price. For that price range I have a buddy that has a 04 FX4 F150 extended cab 50K miles for $17K Some people like the 5.4L but I personally think its a dog. I have one in F150 and its nothing to write home about. My buddies 6.0L will do circles around my truck and get better fuel mileage. I get about 11.5-12 mpg he gets 12.5-13.5.

14k, zero accidents (not validated by carfax yet though)

Im going to shy away from both of them because they Beano (the owners ) told me that he bought it from a sheep ranch farmer. It had to hole in the bed for a gooseneck ball so im figuring if it was a farm truck it saw its fair share of towing. Not in a real huge rush for a truck so I am just going to wait until I find exactly what I want in the price range I want.

if your in know hurry then your in the best situation When I was looking at F250s I was looking at 2000's with about 100k miles but 4x4 extended cab's and Powerstrokes for about $13.5K... just a thought.

Well the 2500hd had been in a accident too the guy just lied to me. Air bags where deployed so i am guessing it was a decent hit.

2001. was owned by ford engine mechanic.

has a cap, not sure if I will keep it on or not. Probably will so I can just sleep in the bed when camping.

got it for 4g's below Retail value and 2g's below private party value.

no accidents either.
