by '03 they went to a D60 up front and either a sterling 10.25 or 10.5 rear.

Service manual shows Dana 50 or Dana 60 for the front

10.5" for the rear.

As an option, maybe. Most of the F250's I've seen had the Dana 50 up until 2003.

correct, the first years of the Superduty were a D50. and it wasn't even an option to get a d60 in the first years all d50 until 2003

also whoever mentioned 98...there was no '98 as Super Dutys came out early in '98 but were a '99 model year.
Similar to '96 when the YJ faded out and the '97 TJ appeared.

The D50 must have just came in the gas motor trucks. I have a 2000 F-250 with the 7.3 Diesel in it and it has a D60.

If this is true then its new to me!!

I've seen the 50 under the V8 model trucks - can't speak for the 10 cyl motor....

The pinion nut on the 50 is like 1/8" smaller than the 60 if that helps you out any

From Jeeper Creepers, I just bought a set for my 2000 F250. you get 10% discount if you mention this site. I think it was $188.

Think again, I've got a D50 in my '99. I havent pulled the cover to verify but from everything i've seen the SD's came with D50's up until '03ish. D50's are easy to mistake for D60's. They look very similar on the outside but the D50 has a D44 carrier and D60 outers
