Default Stereo Crackling

I have a 94 Explorer with a Kenwood CD player in it. I noticed that on the left side, I get a lot of crackling through the speakers. It will do it for a while, then stop. I used a good quality install kit with the correct adaptors. If I wiggle the DIN plug, I can get it to crackle a few times. Any ideas on how to fix this?

sounds like you need to re-pin the speaker wires on the board the plugs into the back on the Kenwood

I think it's the DIN connector. If I wiggle it, it'll crackle. What is the small unit the DIN plugs into at the bottom of the dashboard? I may have to buy the section of cable that runs from the stereo to that unit. Or can I cut off the plug and wire up the speakers direct to the stereo?
