Dodge 5.9L 360 V-8

I have one from a 1995 RAM and I want to boost HP and acceleration. Being a 95 it has the Holley throttle body and OEM intake w/ fuel injection. Being a former gear head, I am only familiar with carberated systems. Any gear heads out there have any suggestions on what I might do to the motor, including but, not limited to the intake, exhaust, cam, etc.?

GO BEARS!

Ported/polished throttle body 50mm or 52mm depending on what else you do
Headers and full 3" exhaust
Mopar single plane intake
K&N FIPK or similar air intake kit
Gotta get more air in, through, and out.

Mopar performance computer or get the stock one reflashed for your mods
1.92 or 2.02 heads - ported/polished
24lb injectors

shift kit in the tranny
higher stall converter
(new transmission after you blow up the stocker)

Depends on what you want to do with it? Most of the mods you can do to the 5.9 are going to sacrifice low and power and torque for the high end... not really great for towing were you want your power from idle - 3,500 RPM or so.

I put in intake and new muffler on mine and it breathes a little better on the high end. I have a set of 4.10's sitting next to me to bump my RPMs on the highway a little. 5th is a little too tall with the Jeep behind it.

I could probably fix that slow Ram problem for you this summer. Mine spanks Mustangs. I beat 3 out of 4 Mustangs that I raced. The 4th one had a 2 stage nitrous kit and beat me by a fender.

Talk to this guy RAMIT2500. His 5.9L in his truck is built up very nicely, and he knows his shit about this engine.

Hmm, actually, 07 camrys run 14.1 @ 99. 0-60 in 6.1. Pleny of other 4 door family cars from Nissan, Chevy, Dodge, Subaru that'll run that range as well. E

He said mustangs, which most on the road aren't 07s, plenty of 215-235-260 hp models out there which aren't that quick. Except for the 3 valves and supercharged cobras, stock mustangs are slow.

LOL, pull the stick out of your butt.

I used autos.msn.com numbers.

The '07 numbers for the Mustangs are the same for '05 and '06.

As far as the stick...don't know what to tell ya.

Shit, I ran a 14.8 in my stock 4wd 5.9 ZJ. I spanked most of the ricers and mustangs at Milan in the test and tunes.

Lose some body fat, don't tell me that ram is light, I have the extended cab model. the Magnum V8's are also famous with machine shops for cracking heads. Suffered that last fall when I bought the dang thing, one cracked and one warped, both were sucking engine oil into the intake and coating the valves with junk. Its much more snappy now... 318 and 360 heads are the same thing along with the cams. there are computer cams out for the dodge 360 but you still have to get the computer programed.

Honestly after my experience with this Magnum engine I'm not sure I will ever buy another, but then I dropped $600 into my engine 2 months after I bought the truck, and still counting, need a new breather and radiator yet.

makes me wonder If I will ever get to buying that liftkit.
