Alex, in all seriousness I say go for it, you're a smart kid and I fully believe that you're capable of creating a good buggy. But dont expect to have a perfect ride the first time through, build something that runs and drives and gives you the opportunity to learn from. Even Scotts buggy isn't going to be perfect, you can ask him, I'm sure there are things that he would redo if he could. My first investment though would be in a design program like Bendtech. Design the thing on a computer before you start wasting money bending pipe.

With the pro or EZ 3D version of that program you can do anything you could ever manage to do, and it'll save you money in the long run when you're not cutting and bending useless pipes. That's my thoughts atleast

Everything goes over budget, the government taught us that. But it depends on what his outlook is looking like. Get it built in a year? probably not....three or four? maybe.

Priorities ian. I'd like to pay for college in cash. Debt is not my thing.

Oh I know damn well. I'm going to be living at home working full time and going to school. It's doable but not easy. It's gonna sucks for like 4 years of my life BUT it will be done and over with. I'm going to be 17 when I graduate so I have a whole year of working full time to save up too.

I went to school, worked at the same time, full time and have no student loan debt, nor did I need student loans, I did get some financial aid tho, I also lived at home, but I did have time and money for building projects, just pick and choose what to buy and the importance of it, it can be done good luck !!
