Default Anyone ever transfered a car lease to someone else?

Is it possible to transfer a car lease to someone else and not have any financial/liability responsibility to the next person?

Do you ever try to research anything on your own or do you just come here and post simple questions that come to mind?

Did you call the financial company that you make the payments to that holds your lease?

The answer to the subject title of your thread is: Yes, I have.

The answer to your post is: In my case, yes, once I transferred the lease the liability of the lease was no longer my responsibility what so ever.

A tad, yes...

no....This is my first lease so I am not familiar with how it works...I wanted to ask people before I called Chrysler Financial and possibly got a different answer

The answer Chrysler Financial gives you is the final answer. What others tell you is their experience, yours may be different.

I haven't, I still have my 900 and it's street legal. I'm not sure what route I want to go, I plan in keeping the 900 as it's street legal and a 4 seat. I want to do something with a 2 seater but I'm kinda holding out to see what Yamaha does this next go around.

Why do you ask?

I had a 11 900xp, and regret selling it....I was thinking about a XP1k, but have a hard time with the cost on the new ones, and they seem to have more problems with suspension, belts then the 900s did. I have been trying to get prices on insurance for a 900xp street legal in case I went back to that route.

First the 1000 problems aren't horrible and really I think it's from people who thrash crazy hard. The pricing is high but there is a dealer in union city TN that is in the $16,000 range for a new one.

As far as insurance I now pay $78 a month, full coverage, $500 deduct, declared value of $25,000. This is a HUGE can of worms, I spent entirely too much time on this topic and am VERY comfortable with my coverage from both a legal and financial stand point. If you have questions feel free to PM me.

Well, my experience is not going to net you any help at all. I did not lease a chrysler, you're on your own. Maybe you can call them and they can give you the answer?

FYI, it cost me $500 to transfer my lease.

www.swapalease.com is the website I used to advertise my vehicle. But if you already have someone to transfer it to all you have to do is call your leasing company. Swapalease.com at the time was only to advertise, afterwards I still had to do all of my own legwork with the finance company.

I took over a lease from someone a few years ago on a 2005 Dodge Ram,

It did not cost me anything to do so, just tons of paperwork, and even to the day I turned in the truck Chrysler still had some or the paper work in the original person's name.

Would they have had any additional liabilities? I have no idea.
During the transfer Chrysler said no.

Chrysler was suppose to have changed everything over, and I though they did, but as I said, they never did get it all straight. Since I made all my payments on time, and turned it in without any damage, nothing ever went back on the original lessee.

I would definitely call them and ask.
