Is it true that you don't have to go to the dunes to legally eat a sandwich?

I second this. It was delicious. If only they knew. Pigs.

Maple ham, buffalo chicken, 1 slice of Colby cheese, 1 slice of pepper jack, a piece of tomato, mayo, mustard, on lightly toasted wheat bread. I had some cottage cheese with a glass of ice tea (unsweetened I'm a city boy) and a strawberry yogurt.

The vouchers work. I remember waiting in line on holidays as far back as Ridge & 34th, and taking 3 to 5 hours to get in.
For the last 15 or so years we've only gone on the sand during the week to avoid all the weekend hill setters and party crowds. Nobody's out there during the week to plug up any hill tops or get in the way in other areas. That said, we skipped the sand altogether this year and just went sightseeing up the coast.

No wonder we saw so many scramblers this last week
We were up from the 25th-3rd.

I understand that it has been this way at silver lake for decades, but it still annoyed me. Not enough to keep me from going, but enough to post a message here about it. Just because its always been a certain way doesn't mean it isn't rude. People drive slow in the fast lane and always have but thats still rude.
I would also disagree about the hill sitters being rude.
If you go to the movies, or a concert, or a sporting event, and it is sold out, are the people that beat you there "rude" for doing so? I don't think so, but that's what you are saying. Someone beat you to a spot that they enjoy, to enjoy the view, or watch other people, from one of the best spots to do so on the dunes. I have never been there when I couldn't find a spot for long.

Just be patient grasshopper. A spot will open in time.

To fix your analogy, you would walk into a movie theater with plenty of open seating except the people in the front row row have umbrellas up so you cant see the whole screen.

You are right in that being patient would male ensuring easier.

I disagree, in your analogy the umbrella add nothing to the movie experience for the person holding it

for the person sitting at the top of test hill, the experience sitting there is not the same as the experience sitting at the bottom, or anywhere else.

The umbrella doesn't add anything to their experience but it ruins it for the people behind them i.e. The people trying to drive up and over test hill. If everyone is sitting across the top then no one can get over it or there is little room to do so.

Wow, people sitting on top of test hill watching rigs come up like they've done for as long as I can remember has really brought the OP some serious rectal pain.

one of two possible responses can be made to this post.

1. You're fucking retarded if you don't think silverlake is a white trash destination filled with white trash.

or

2. Silver Lake must have changed significantly since I was last there if it is no longer a white trash destination.

Those who patron SL are only considered white trash by people who live on the East Side. However in retrospect, those who frequent SL could care less what the East Siders think for the most part.

I think what you just said is that all west siders are white trash?

I'm pretty sure that's not the case, but I am pretty sure that Silver Lake attracts a VERY high level of white trash, not unlike many of the other examples hancho listed.

Was that you in the copper jeep pulling wheelies on the strip by the beach?

I was there with my hood up for a while waiting for some new belts to get dropped off to me.

I kind of wondered the same thing....

Yea, that was me. I was having some issues I was trying to work out too. I wasn't able to make a full on pass all day. I was wondering if that was your Bronco or not. I should have just went up and asked.
Who was the guy with the older Bronco?
We came back out later, but the strip was cleared out. Everybody was around the hills.
