I have some old Halon's that I've carried and need to reorder them as they are expired also. ~$120.00 for a 1.25 lb unit
I also have a new 'wet water' rechargable extinguisher I'm planning on carrying but can't find any more canisters as the guy I purchased them from passed away and his business folded, he was a one man show. It's filled with a special fire extinguishing agent and then pressurized with nitrogen. I have 5 gallons of that material which is immune from freezing so it oesn't have the same drawback as just plain water. Anyone heard of this type?

It's prabably water+AFFF+Antifreeze, or just plain old RV antifreeze.

Not sure, I'll dig the spec out tonight. It contain a water-wetting retardant of some sort. It was/is a commercial product.

Thanks all. Looks like The header melted some zip-ties that were routing my trans cooler lines. Once loose, the lines hit the header and poof. A lot of my engine wire harness is singed to the point that I don't trust it, so I'll be repairing a lot of that. My ATF is black and it wasn't 2 days ago, plus I hate my 3k stall converter so I'm going to pull the trans tonight and have my friend take a look at it. I'm thinking 2200 converter this time, I just hope it doesn't push me through the brakes when in 4:1 like the stock converter did. Too much Chevy power I guess
Finishing dinner and then going to pull the trans out.

Mine was $12, and my absolute best fricking friend at this time last night. Just glad I had something, as I was almost out of beer

Here's the wetting agent.

http://www.coldfire.biz/Cold-Fire-Fr...-Questions.htm

The problem I have with the powdered ABC models is it totally screws up and contaminates everything it comes in contact with.
Granted some of the other extinguisher types like Halon are more expensive but I like the end results better.

Looks like 2000 or 2500 in my price range. Should I flip a coin or be sensible and choose the 2000?

I would wonder if 2500 would be the ticket. Maybe @Tranny Tom can enlighten.

Tbi 350 with flat tops and a 222* .447 cam. Runs good, maybe 300 hp. Pulls hard but runs out of head around 6000.
Th400 and a rubi 241 (4:1)
4.56 with 37s.

I was pushing through the brakes something fierce with the stock (1300?) converter. I had this tiny thing laying around (3200ish) and it fixed the brake push but sucks unless your on it hard. Thinking 2000 is all I need. Idle is around 800 rpm and I make more torque than hp.

KillerB would probably recommend a Hughes TowMaster series converter. (GM4Tow for the TH400). 1800-2000 stall, increases low end torque, good in a 4x4.. But maybe you need a touch looser..

I went with Hughes, but not the towmaster, just the hot rod 2000-2200. I'll report back.

3rd gear clutches smoked. And a fragged one way clutch. I'm sure I broke the one-way when I slammed park to get out of the thing in a hurry. Fire made me speedy. Trans will be back together today, just waiting on Summit for the converter.

I split a PS hose in the xj pulling into work and had it flame up. Sprayed the hood liner and that caught fire. Put it out with my sleeve. Went inside and grabbed aluminum foil from the break room. Wrapped the hose with it to keep the spray down and limped home a hour after work. Spooky shit.
