Default Old school parts store

I've had it with the oriellys and need to set up an account with a new store. Anyone know of a really good old style napa type place with old guys that can look stuff up but usually don't need to? Prefer somewhere near Plymouth road and Merriman. Livonia area. I'm wAsting too much time getting wrong parts from oriellys.

My local auto value is still an old school store. Most of the people there actually know what you are talking about and are able to get you anything you need. I hate dealing with the dumb fucks who work at the big box auto stores. If they can't look it up by application there have no clue.

Auto value.
When I go in auto zone though, I just turn the computer screen around and look up my own parts and just have the guys pick them for me. Easier than dealing with some of the guys in there. Lol

I like my NAPA. Everything's computerized but they have several catalog racks that get abused daily. Been using that place for 30 years. The staff has been there that long too.

Auto value is typically my "go to" store lately. Our local Napa is too small. For expensive parts, I purchase online at Advance Auto and look up a coupon code. That is usually good for 30% off, sometimes more.

Nothing worse than going into a store and asking for a 1310 u-joint and the guy needs to know model, year, engine, trans, 2wd/fwd. Good luck with your search, I haven't had much luck.

I use my catalog rack multiple times a day, but sadly, most places don't even know which book to look in any more.

The Napa in Livonia has a few of old timers working there, 8 mile and Farmington. I'm not sure how Glendale is now a days but there's one in Livonia and in Plymouth.

Novi auto at Novi and grand river is an old school store. I use auto value in Romulus or bellevile. They're good people and now how to look up what you need, or find an oddball part.

Want to have fun with them? Ask for a radiator/heater core/thermostat for a 69 Beetle.

It takes less time for me to look up the parts and order them online. I just swing in and pick up the parts, problem solved.

I would rather use oreilly's online catalog than going to a napa or autovalue.
