Default 1985 Olds Delta 88 W/455 Big Block 2-door

One of a kind 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with a 455 bored .060 over. Has TH400 trans and eaton posi, both under 500 miles. Have receipts for trans from Buddy's transmission for $2,000 and replaced rearend myself, $500 for the posi unit. Engine was built by Dick Miller Racing (The Oldsmobile experts) and has been dynoed and tuned at Baker Engineering multiple times. Approximately 305 HP and 430 lb-ft of torque at the rear. Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, headers, cutouts for exhaust, offenhauser single plane intake. Has centerline wheels, 295/50R16 rear and 245/50R16 fronts, and has lowering springs. Has a Grant steering wheel. Car was one family owned until I purchased it a few years ago, still have the original window sticker. Car was in Florida for some time where the sun turned the carpet yellow and the vehicle was keyed down the passenger side. Paint is from an older restoration, many coats of clear coat, paint and primer so key mark doesn't go all the way to the steel. Electric seat doesn't work, you can hear the motor, seat just won't move. Missing a hood spring so hood doesn't stay up by itself. Tires in the front are fairly new, tires in rear will need replacing soon, especially if I keep driving it. If you are looking for something with good gas mileage, this isn't it. Very fun car. $5,000 Call 231-313-three six one three, leave message if no answer. Will trade for a 3/4 ton plow truck, chevy or ford only, worth $2,000 or under and cash, or a gas saver car, must be a 4 cylinder and manual. Hard time uploading pics so they are in the attached craigslist link.

Cool looking but I have to ask, Why a $2k trans and dyno time for an engine built by experts that makes 305HP out of 455 cubes?

Build an Olds 455 paperman and see how much money you have to put in it. I didn't build it but know the family that did and they spent a huge amount of time and money to get the engine built correctly. At the engine, I have no idea what horse and torque it makes, but you could probably add 70-100 to each of those numbers (just estimating, who knows). I removed the flowmaster 60 series, put in spintech 9000 series mufflers and removed the engine driven fan and put in an electric fan, so maybe a little more power from that. They had a hard time getting the oiling correct on this engine and it was spinning bearings for some time before it was sent to Dick Miller Racing. I have no idea why you would spend this amount of money on a car like this, but it had a lot of sentimental value I suppose (went from grandfather to his son, then onto his son) and it is a very fun car, one you will probably never see another like. I take it to our local 1/8 mile track about once a year for the 3 years I've owned it and it runs low 8's, which isn't bad for a car that probably weighs around 4,500 lbs. I have little knowledge on the internals of the trans or engine, wish I had more. I've been trying to get receipts from the original owner when they sent it off to Dick Miller Racing but haven't had any luck. I know they spent a stupid amount of money at DMR but they didn't care just wanted to get it built right.
