300 rounds of .44 Mag one day after the other out of the Alaskan may have been a bit much. My hand is actually sore.

Rapid fire drill from a draw at 25 feet. Realistic max CPL engagement range. Double action only.

Not too shabby for my second time ever shooting this revolver.

Not to mention these loads are a 180gr JHP at 1600 fps.

But, it becomes more precise with practice.

True, however anytime we were told to rapid fire in the marines, it was more accuracy by volume.

In what universe do you empty a .44 Mag as fast as you can at someone who is using a human shield? Da fuq?

You should have shot a accuracy group and posted it too.

That wasn't the focus of my training yesterday.

I'll do some single action only slow fire next time and post a pic of the groups.

This was only my second time ever shooting this revolver (and .44 Mag in general) and I just wanted to make sure I would be able to use it defensively if I had to.

The fine tuning will come a little later.

Seeing slow fire and fast fire gives them something to compare to. Not that anyone shoots one hole groups with a 44 mag lol

Exactly.

With something like the Alaskan you're not looking for tiny groups. I'm just happy that I'm able to consistently and easily hold center mass with minimal training on it. Being confident in your ability with the weapon in your hand is a big part of the battle.

These are just speed drills. If I ever had to use it against a two legged predator I highly doubt I will need more than two rounds center mass. If I have to dump the cylinder though... I know I can do it and keep the rounds exactly where I want them. I can't even imagine the level of damage it would do though. There wouldn't be much left recognizable inside their chest.
