Default Building a C6

So, I'm about to pull the C6 Out of my truck since I have to do a rear main seal on it, I figured its time to build the trans anways. Could someone point me in the direction of what makes sense for it? I was planning on running a Trans-Go shift kit, and thinking about going full manual. Could someone point me in the direction of what else I should do? Its going behind what should soon be a ~400 horse 351, in a truggy. Typical trail cruising, playing in the rocks, and occasional smokey burnout. The trans currently works fine, but I figured I might as well freshen it up while its out. Is it worth going with red bands, and the whole nine yards?

Thanks!

Default Trans

When I did mine a few months ago, I just bought the 500 HP rebuild kit from Broader performance. It also comes with a book that describes all the extra Tricks to perform while your in there. If I recall it was $385 for the kit, and it included stuff to add clutches to the drums.

If this is your first trans rebuild as mine was, Bad shoe productions has a VERY detailed video that is step by step and idiot proof. much worth the $20 price tag.

Ended up running reds throughout, new vacuum modulator, shift kit, and just trying to choose a vb right now.

Full manual is a pain in the ass for wheeling.

If you haven't installed the shift kit and are thinking of a manual VB- just return it. The VB replaces the need for the kit.

Well, that was the thing. I'm not sure how soon the full manual will come. Hopefully Ill order within the month, but im not positive. On a plus side, the shift kit was free.99

Do NOT get the TCI VB, it is meant for drag racing only. Get the Broader VB, specifically a full manual, reverse pattern, with engine braking.

Thanks for the Heads up! I was leaning towards the Tci, but I'll avoid it now!

I just did exactly the same thing with the Broader 500HP kit and the Bad Shoe video. If everything goes well I should be able to take it for a test drive tonight. Between the video and the info with the Broader kit it seemed pretty easy.
