Default Yj w/sbc brake issue....

I have an 89 yj that since I bought it has always had a really soft brake pedal. You almost have to go to the floor with the pedal before brakes apply pressure.Or so it seems.
I have googled this and everything I see says to set up a hydro brake, and they all had rear disc. I still am running the rear drum brakes.
So I guess the question is what can I do to get a more firm brake pedal?
If it involves swapping out the booster and master cylinder to a different size, which size or type of vehicles set up should I use with minimal fabricating?
Thanks in advance for any input or suggestions.

OK, so, describe what you have, first.

What master and booster, are they stock?

What front axle / brakes?
What rear axle / brakes?

Just because you have an SBC, doesn't mean much, fi its all otherwise stock YJ stuff, maybe you just have worn out parts.

If you have swapped axles with large piston brakes, then you'll have a soft pedal, and would need to go with a larger bore MC to balance out the ratio..
