Default birdies in the pole barn

Looking for ideas to keep the birds out of the pole barn. I'm not a fan of poo on my stuff.

Its a 40 x 60 with the bottom of the joist at 14'.

My current plan to slow the poo issue is to staple up some sheets of plastic in the areas where I park the important vehicles. Kinda like a carport in my pole barn. Any reason not to do this (other than having a nice bird poo collection above the truck)?

How are they getting in? I occasionally have one in my barn, but I just open one of the sliding doors, and then I shoot the bird.

Yeah, I guess how are they getting in?

My 30x48 has never had any birds get in, or even mice that I'd seen. But mine has fully enclosed soffits. Are yours open or something?

When woodpeckers started attacking my house I used a fake owl about 10' above their strike zone. It had no effect and i routinely saw birds perched next to the owl.

They sell netting that is supposed to keep birds out. Also string or fishing wire hanging from the ceiling is supposed to annoy them.

Are the walls and ceiling sheeted such that the birds have nothing to perch on?

Find a 8-10yr old with a bb gun and let them have a field day. Or a grown man with a bb gun and a case of beer.

We're talking 10-20 birds. We just moved here and while the shed was full, it wasn't accessed much.

For a while, then birds just tend to sit and shit on them, I'm told

Fishing line works outside because the wind made noise going over it and movement. It's used a lot on boat lifts. I don't think it would work in a barn. They have those bird spikes, if they have no spot to sit they will leave.

I don't think they get used to the noise maker.

Previous employer used them to great success. Too bad they only used them in a few areas instead of every opening
