Brass clad for the win!!! That would be so badass I can't even describe it! Something like steam works style. Or copper clad, weathered with some soldered joints, that would be sweet

Copper plated would look pretty killer with the OD, a weathered/tarnished finish slighty polished up. Like a shell casing (I know that's brass). Guaranteed magazine spot, probably a cover.

I like the white. But I also agree the copper look would be pretty sweet as well! Killer quad!

A copper colored powder coat was on the list of possibilities that I'd comsidered to replace the white, but I never considered actual copper plating.

If I remember correctly, copper plating is one of the steps in chrome plating...so a decent chrome plating shop should be able to handle the frame. I just don't know how durable the finish would be....

I would think it would be alright with just the copper plating. Should cost a lot less than chrome since the actual nickel chrome plate is the expensive portion IIRC. You are correct that any chrome shop should be able to do the copper plate. You might be able to save some coin if you would rather polish it yourself for the first time, or leave it "raw".

You can have them replate it a few times, and if you want, you can clear coat it to lock in the polish, or let it tarnish like a BAMF.

If I didnt already have the fenders painted in the tank theme, it would be getting a p51 mustang style paintjob and do the frame to match, something like this...

That is a pretty cool look as well.

The copper that ebs posted would look pretty badass, especially as it tarnished a bit. Plus the durability wouldn't matter too much as I think a frame with some scuffs and weathering to it would match the look of the current tank theme pretty well.

I think I'm all in for the copper frame. Come October, I'll start getting the itch to tear it apart again...so that's when the white will be gone for good.
