You're going to turbo a higher compression LQ9 with an ebay blown up turbo with a 4l60e behind it and you're worried about how it'll do offroad?

Out of curiousity, where is he located out of? And does he do tuning on the street or on the dyno?

I'm putting together a heads/cam LS2 right now, I have a base tune but might need some fine tuning once the GMC is actually on the road.

He did a semi base tune on mine, then we went out on the road and he watched all the live data on the laptop. He has a wideband and is going to be finishing my tune tomorrow! He really knows his stuff. Hes in Almont.

how much did he charge to tune it? do you know if he uses efi live or HP tuners?

a lq9 and boost is fine. there are plenty of boosted SS trucks, LS6, and LS2 powered vehicles doing just fine.

I use EFI Live right now, looking into picking up HPTuners because its a little cheaper per license. My prices for forum members start at $180 for a basic retune which includes some safe HP increases, basic trans tuning, emissions deletes, vats, etc. I picked up a wideband so that I can accurately tune for performance mods and such. I will be offering performance tunes in the next few weeks once I get my wideband setup to be portable and all. I can also do harnesses for swaps.

Need to buy a star here shortly so that I can advertise.

If the motor is as healthy as it should be, its still a lot of strain on a 4L70 in that heavy of a vehicle.

I had KillerB setup my 700R4 with all the aftermarket bits, including the higher number of planetaries. We'll see, I'm a bit nervous. It'll be 4000 lbs + 550 HP + Full time AWD + a good converter. I still see it as the weak link in the system.

Yeah i think im just going to go with a 4L80E.. Its just hard to beat the durability of one and still have overdrive! Plus I can get a nice used one for 500-700.
