Default 78 F100 351 C6 slips when cold in first.

Only gear it slips in is first, and only for the first mile or two, then the slip goes away, never slips from 1-2 or 2-3. Planning on running a bottle of seafoam through the trans. Then dropping the pan, adding a drain plug, adding fluid, draining, adding fluid, draining, adding fluid, and draining once more to make sure its flushed good. Any other Ideas that might be my issue, other than what I assume it is, I need a rebuild.

My vote is your will find gritty fluid (bad/worn clutches), which means rebuild. My truck has done that for over a year and I flushed and added 1 quart Lucas. Still runs every day. Only thing that I've found helped was letting it warm up for 10 mins before I left the house in the morning.

Its bought me a lot of time, at least in my case. Mine slips bad between first and second but only when you first take off in the morning, besides in that its fine all day.

If you do end up needing someone to rebuild it, there is a guy in boyne, "Joes Transmission" who will do it for under $400. If you decide to go that route, I can get his cell # for you. Does great work, and turnaround time is less than 2 hours usually.

Didn't flush it, just added some gunk seal sweller, and lucas stop slip, pretty much made the problem disappear, slips for a second when I first start it, before it was 30-60 seconds before it engaged.

Joe's Transmission is a fucking hack. He "rebuilds" a 4L60E while you wait, for $250.00 The parts cost me around 700.00, and we buy from the same place.

While I agree a $250 isn't one I would trust, If you are paying $700 for the parts to rebuild a 4l60e it seems like you are getting ripped, unless you are replacing all of the hard parts too.
