Default Anyone know much about Hammer Head buggies/Go Karts?

Anyone know much about Hammer Head Go Karts?

I was offered a HammerHead SS 150 2 seat buggy/gokart for good price.

It's in great shape and even registered /street legal, not sure how without a windshield, but It is.

So my question is, are they decent for anything?

My thought for it is for a vehicle that my wife could drive out to the lake at the dunes, and not need me to run her out for bathroom/lunch what ever...

She won't be doing any more the the hills at the entrance/exits and the flats.

I just have no experience with smaller motors on the dunes to know if it will work.

How hard would it be to swap over to a bigger motor off a quad or something like that?

Good question - I bet @mikesova knows a bit about them. Seems like they're like a "cabover" yerf-dog. :D

If for some reason you don't buy it, call me. I have been looking for a GTS 150 or a GTS 250 for a while.

I drove a 250SS last weekend for about two hours. With two people in it, I could hit 46 mph. (gps) I've never drove a 150, in fact, I've never seen a 150.

The suspension is rough as hell, but we were on dirt trails. I'm sure at the dunes, it would be soft and comfy.

My God, you are just like Scooterbuilt. You can't even keep the toys that you own running.

They use a gy6 150cc scooter engine like my yerf dog. My yerf dog reaches a top speed of about 28mph. I really enjoy the buggy and would maybe like to upgrade to a 250ss like CC mentioned. You might check the specs on it to see if it has reverse. It probably does. I just know that mine doesn't and it's kind of a pain.

Probably better to just buy one with the size engine you want.

for the price difference, I'll try this one out as is, and sell it if I don't like it. I just wanted to know if the engine on it could be swapped out with a bolt on option, from your answer, I'll take that as a "no"

Thanks

FYI, every single thing I own now with an engine is in perfect running order. Hell, I've put over 100 miles on my jeep in the last four days.

http://www.extrememotorsales.com/xca...roductid=16770 puts a new 250 at around $4k?

those things have to be titled similar to the gator/UTV's wouldn't they be?

wouldn't a sand rail be more efficient? or are we literally talking about a "can't pass up price" ?

the price is making it hard to pass up yes, but if it isn't going to do what I want, I probably will pass on it.
From talking with people, even the 250 will be questionable for the sand dunes.

From $4k, I'd rather just wait a bit longer and go $6k on a used side by side with a 500+ cc engine and 4x4.
