Default drop pitman arm on an lifted xj

Advantage and disadvantages to one on a 4.5 " lifted xj ? Only using it off road . Will it hurt anything to just run the stock one?

Keep stock. If you ever decide to use it on road occasionally go for an adjustable tracbar instead of the drop pitman arm.

If you do go with a dropped pitman arm, you will also need a new track bar and frame bracket for it or it will bump steer like a mad man. Stock arm is fine, but if you want to get crazy you will need the dropped track bar along with the dropped pitman arm.
