Yea drag bars do suck. Nice for around town, and they do look pretty good (on certain bikes), but not ideal for longer trips.

I was thinking about ordering a seat first, but I really like the seat on my bike. My buddy has 10" bars on his Street Glide, and it's a lot more comfortable than stock. Trying to keep a straight posture on a Harley is a little hard when you're 6'4"

Hoping the install will go pretty easy on the bars. I can't justify paying ABC HD to do it. Don't know what they will charge, but I'm sure it will be insanely high.

I am 6'2" so I feel your pain. The worst thing about installing bars is the internal wiring. I plug all the holes that you aren't using and tape the nozzle of a shop vac to one hole and feed string into the other. Tape the wires to the string and pull them through. That is the easiest way I have found anyways.

That's what I've read. The good thing about the 2014's is that they have less internal wires, so feeding through shouldn't be as bad. I was thinking about just running string through the end of the bar down to the opening, then pulling the wires through. Like get some fishing line with a little weight on the end to get it down to the opening.

I really like my bike, it was just setup for a younger me. It's time to spend $600 and old fart it out a little bit. :Sonicjay:

I would love to but a street glide or an ultra but I just can't justify the cash. I also can't talk myself into buying something that is cheaper and higher quality, like a honda. :Sonicjay:

Fuck, everyday the weather is warm enough to ride, it rains, I need to go back to 3 years ago when I rode rain or shine, and loved every minute of it.

Did some riding on Sunday. I was using the buggy, though. My dad's neighbor is rocking the DT250 and my dad was sporting his newly acquired DR350.

I wish the weather would straighten up. I want to start bike commuting on my nearly 100 mile round trip commute, but I don't want to wear a snowmobile suit.

My garage is quite cluttered. I put 200 miles on the rocket before I got the title transfered.

Got my bike in at the local HD dealer for it's 1k mile break in service. Going to run Mobil 1 synthetic in the primary. Woah!

Buddy just bought a 13' Street Glide about 3 hours after he picked me up when I dropped my bike off.

Yesterday, I hopped on his (now spare bike) 05' Road King and 8 of us road out to Gibraltor for the bike swap meet. Lot of bikes. Looked to be maybe 1,500-2kish? Pretty good deal. With tall ass apes and no windshield, I was really missing MY bike Cruising at 75mph, I was holding on for dear life it seemed like.

Can't believe how comfortable ape hangers are. When we got back, I had mentioned how nice they were, and his dad let me take his bike for a quick ride. He has a Street Glide with, what looks like 10" apes, but his brother said they were 13-14". Anyway, I took that for a ride and wow. All I can say is fucking wow. With his aftermarket seat, you sit a little lower than stock, and with the bars, it's unbelievable how comfortable it is. Can't wait to get new bars and a different seat.

I'm in the same boat! I got my dad to break out his '81 xl250, 1st time he's rode dirt in 25 yrs. We rode there Saturday. It was my 1st time on a dirt bike in close to 10 yrs after switching back from quads, the soft trails near the parking lot will definitely tell you how out of shape you are in a hurry.

Bought my first cruiser today, a 2004 kawasaki Vulcan 500. Neat bike, great engine. Supposed to be faster than all other modern 5-800 cc Japanese cruisers, and I believe it after riding it. It's odd to see a cruiser with a parallel twin rather than a v twin, but I didn't want a harley look alike.

It looks a little different now after the winter rebuilding session... but this was in the UP last fall. Just went on a 200 mile dirt road/backroad ride in SE MI on saturday with GLDS club... good fun.

I can get a new 2012 Yamaha TW @ costs. But he wouldn't tell me what that was unless we sat down and did paper work to buy! Anybody got an idea, of what it would be? Sign on it said 70$ a month for 60 months- I'd hope @ cost would be a better price.
