Default dropping the t case ???

I am putting a 4.5" short arm lift on my 99 xj, running 32" tires and using off road only . Is it a must that I drop my t case ? If so how much is recommended ? Thank you.

The norm is approx 3/4". I have a new drop kit I didn't use because I went with a SYE kit. Every XJ seems to be different on these. Some go without with no problems, others have vibration issues unless this is used. If it's not in the kit, you can go without and see how it goes. Depends on where the threshold is. There are double caron driveshafts for a slip yoke style too.

With a double cardon I just shim'd my rear axle.
Boom! No vibrations!

I never had any vibe issues, but when I went from my bb 2" to over 5", I just bought longer bolts and stacks of washers for my "drop kit". You can add or remove washers to tweek it to where you need it. I ended up with a hair under an inch on he drop. I had no vibes with the 99 xj, only stupid bump steer because of other issues...
