I prefer to sit on shore in a comfy chair & watch the fishermen.

finally got back out in the shop and built the upper shock mounts. I plan to plate around the mounting bolt area

looking good. whats the spacing on the shocks bolt to bolt? both shocks same travel or is the coil over shorter stroke?

Thanks,

bolt to bolt is 5" the CO is 16" travel the bypass is a 14" the CO is a swayaway which has the smallest body and almost the same overall body size as the 14" king.
I ran the CO a little higher than the bypass and will use the bypass as the bump stop. wont be running the full travel of the CO however I will be running the full travel of the bypass so no need for limit straps and where the 14" bypass is located on the trailing arm I can cycle 19.5" of wheel travel. I was hoping to get about 22 and I probably could if I relocate the shocks on the trailing arm but Im sick moving shit...lol

I clocked the t-case and lowered the rear output about 3" and also pulled the drivetrain forward about 2" last night which will give me a longer driveshaft and less plunge throughout the suspension travel, so I will have no problem with driveshaft angles now.

how long is your rear driveshaft? so your just going to let the bypass do the limit strap duties?

that's what I was planning, bad idea?

I believe my driveshaft will end up around 31" overall from center to center of u-joint. I did not measure it after I moved the drivetrain last night.

I would run limit straps you don't want all that stress on the shock. Curious why you didn't put the coil over behind the bypass sense it is longer travel?

main reason is I have a 42" bench and the coil is wider than the back side of the bypass and it would not work with seat or tire clearance. its all pretty tight back there. I could always get a longer bypass the ones im using are on loan for mock up but I figured if the 14" travels what I can use and I can eliminate limit straps its one less thing to package and put in....
but I could add them, I really prefer not if at all possible but I don't want to hurt those bypasses either, they are a lot more than a few limit straps...lol

yeah the more I think about it the more I think I probably should. If that's the case Ill probably get a longer bypass and limit the travel just before drive shaft bind.
Or run the way its set up and limit it at 19" so I have 1/2" of shock left before full extension

yes limit straps are a must. you would be awful sad watching the shock body rip apart on a bypass shock because you didn't put in a $24 limit strap

limit straps stretch. so factor that in when mounting them.
