Default Excursion transmission problem-SOLVED

UPDATE : I found a 100k mile trans. Put it in, and everything works as it should, except.......when it shifts into drive, and o/d, it shakes and shudders under load. I've read a few things on the ol' Web, but I'd really like your thoughts.

No, they put them in both gas and diesel super duty trucks and excursions. 99-03 diesel super duty and excursion. Every year gas excursion I think?? They moved to the torque shift with the 6.0.

That's a big no good buddy..... Lol. Not payin' 2g's for a "new" trans. I'm looking for a used one in the $500(or less) range. There's GOTTA be a TONIGHT out there! I just can't find one.

All I've found under 100 miles away has like 230k on it for $550 + core. I thought these things would be plentiful.....guess not. Think I found one down in Ohio.....200 miles away!

Torque converter shudder. One of the most common problems for Ford. Try lightly applying the brake with your left foot while holding steady on the throttle with your right while it is shuddering.

Lightly applying the brake, just enough to turn the lights on, will take the converter out of lockup. If the shudder goes away, it's a good sign your converter is bad. My '94 F-150 has the same issue - feels like driving over rumble strips when under load in lockup.

Problem solved gentlemen! Was getting a misfire on call 1. Replaced the coil, and viola! It was missing so bad that it was bucking which I mistook for converter shudder. Yay!
