Newest vehicle at my house is 2005, and I'm kinda glad for all the reasons posted above. Way too many overcomplex systems with too many failure points for my liking.

I agree mostly with the fancy radios except for the Ram is actually fairly nice. My had the issue with the Ford Sync and hated it and ive spent quite a bit of time behind some new GM products that we weren't fans of too

when I bought my Ram it was a major consideration but I actually like how it operates. The system responds quickly and everything is intuitive. There are also buttons for most all the major things as well.

A pretty technical guy I know just recently leased a new Caddy. He downloaded and read the owner’s manual the night before picking up the car figuring he’d be all set to just grab it and go. Wrong! He said it still took over a half hour with the salesman to learn how to work touch screen, especially the HVAC system. He also said he’s had a few close calls while trying to work the controls while driving. Major FAIL by the manufacturer!

Seems we’ve forgotten that a vehicle is for transportation, not entertainment. What I find hard to understand is how this touchscreen controls gets put into cars in the first place. Manual controls are always in the same place. One look to locate it and often you can do the rest by feel. Touch screens have no tactile feel which requires the driver to concentrate their gaze on the screen in order to touch the right spot. If menus have to be scrolled through that is even more time the drivers eyes and concentration are off the road. There is a reason why a video screen cannot be in the driver's view. How are these touchscreens any different? Just plain stupid.

My wife has a 14 Cadillac ATS with the CUE system and its not that bad compared to myford touch. The good thing is the radio can be completely used just from the steering wheel, and with most audio commands you can adjust the HVAC.

Uconnect, Myford touch, My lincoln experience, Cadillac CUE....they all are stupid and not easy to use....but to the techies in the world they would think it looks cool.
