Default anyone good with a 4l60e?

heres what I got. 03 silvy 5.3 4l60e 4x4 etc etc. heres the story. trans went out about 20k ago. that was routine. slipping, burnt fluid smell, the works. well I put a rebuilt tranny in it and now to present times. the trans all of a sudden just quit getting 3rd gear. no slipping at all. It goes through first and second just fine then revs like its in neutral. The fluid still smells nice and clean which is what is leading me to believe its not clutch packs. Its not throwing any codes for the shift solenoids either which is why im confused. Ive read forums and check fuses etc etc till I was blue in face. If I gotta put another trans in it, then that's what I gotta do but I don't wanna replace a good trans if its another problem. Any one got any ideas to lead me in the right direction?

Do you have reverse? I had one in an Envoy that would not go into second or reverse, ended up needing to replace the sun shell, an easy fix according to my tranny guy, but you do have to remove the trans to do it.

Try manualy shifting through gears to third. I don't rember the exact set up but there is a sprag for 3rd and they break. Manualy shifting engages another clutch pack to help hold it. I had a 4l60 that would only do this on down shifts out of over drive.

The 2-3 shift is the 2-4 band releasing, and the 3-4 clutch coming on. The 2-4 band servo acts as the accumulator for the 3-4 clutch. There is a ball check capsule in the case that MUST seal properly for the 3-4 clutch to engage. You need to run some pressure tests to diagnose this.
