Default Gun Registration

I just wonder how far this will go. How many other states will at some point make a run at our right to bear arms?

I can't see this getting much traction, especially with the outrage being exhibited. Even my lifelong Democrat mother doesn't agree with this.

Either CT repeals this retarded legislation or we'll see them start building new prisons. The latter option will cause a whole lot of blood to be spilled.

I don't want to see anybody hurt or jailed but I hope it escalates because I think the revolt will tell these assholes in government to back off.

We had a mandatory "Long-Gun Registry" here in Canada... It cost Billions of $$$ to put in place. 5 years or so after it was introduced, it was repealed as Unconstitutional and the files were destroyed with the exception of the Quebecers (French Majority population) as the province believed that there was value in it.

I hope that you do not get it crammed down your throats as we did here... I was very nervous when out hunting with my unregistered shotguns!!!

After Sandy Hook and the complete and utter failure of gun control legislation in 2013, left wing zealots are doubling down on "reasonable" controls.

This years Trojan horse buzzword is "safety". Every piece of legislation will have it in title

History is repeating itself. Registration leads to confiscation, and confiscation leads to tyranny.

We are winning, but the grabbers will never give up, calling for compromise while never giving an inch. The only compromise I want to see is start following the laws we already have, starting with this one

Quote:
MCL 380.1163 Gun safety instruction for elementary school pupils; model program.Sec. 1163.
(1) Not later than August 1, 2011, the department shall develop or adopt, and shall make available to schools, 1 or more model programs for gun safety instruction for elementary school pupils. The model program shall adopt or be based on the "Eddie Eagle" gunsafe accident prevention program developed by the national rifle association.

(2) Each school district and public school academy is encouraged to adopt and implement the model gun safety instruction program developed under subsection (1) in at least grade 3 beginning in the 2011-2012 school year.

Isn't it funny that the same people who feel that sex education will help prevent teen pregnancy do not feel that gun safety education will prevent accidental shootings?

I'm curious - the CT authorities already seem to know who a lot of the non-complying people are, threatening to "go get them" if they don't get with the program. If they already know who has the weapons, why did they need any further registration process? And how is it they already know so much? Some previous permit process?

The people they are threatening are the ones who tried to register but missed the deadline.

It's a very small percentage of people. The vast majority of gun owners in CT did NOT comply in any way with the law.

I seriously hope the people of CT stand up for their/our rights and tell the gestapo governor and his cronies to piss off with their anti-gun agenda.

ANOTHER good reason I left Connecticut. They'll make guns, but they hate 'em.
