Default Wood splitting

I prefer to split wood by hand I do have a log splitter but I feel like I could use a new splitting axe.

What's the best splitting axe you have used or heard of?
I'm not worried about the price so much just would really like a nice splitting axe

I like the Fiskars splitting axe, does a damn nice job for how lightweight it is.

I also have a "Great Divider" it's a damn mid evil looking peice but it splits wood with authority.

When all else fails I have a 18lb sledge and a handful of wedges.

I have a 100 year old wedge/axe thing my grandfather used to use. One swing is all it takes, he was splitting wood with it when he was in his 70's.

I use a 10 lb maul for the big stuff and an old, sharp, double bladed ax for the rest.

I use a very old maul. I tried a newer one and it was terrible, however it wasn't the Fisker. After messing up my rotator cuff this year I will start borrowing my dads log splitter.

Hand splitting is for people who are not lazy and don't want to buy a gym membership.

True true..
The Gransfors Bruks wins hands down, but most people are not going to spend the $160 for it.
You can buy 4 of the Fiskars for the same price.
Break it, they send you a new one.
I've never broke one.
That said I do own the Gransfors wildlife hatchet, it is one of the finest crafted tools I own.
