1998 Jeep TJ Sport
4.0L Inline six
Selling for my Dad, he's looking at a 2014 Silverado, so looking to clear some space. He bought it about 5-6 years ago with 66k miles, and only drove it in the summer, has always been stored winters except for last year, but parked again this year. Not abused, been in two tracks occasionally in northern MI, and that's about the extent of it's off-road career.
Very solid body and underbody, Clean Jeep with no rust aside from a small bubble on windshield frame and a hardly noticeable bubble under the paint under driver's side door. Way above average. Frame is black with a few areas of surface rusting in a few spots, no weak or soft areas.
Jeep runs, drives, rides excellent. No mechanical issues, 4wd works great with no noises. 70mph on the highway with no vibrations, etc. Newer Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's on 16" Aluminum wheels. Maybe 8k miles on them, with matching spare. New Bestop Soft top in early spring of 2011, no rips or tears, no scratches on windows and all zippers in great shape. Aftermarket JVC CD Player and Pioneer speakers. (Does not have sound bar, just two fronts). Interior is good, carpets need cleaned or pulled and replaced with bedliner, etc. No rear seat, never had one when he bought it, but brackets/belts are there. Dash and other plastic in good shape. Drivers seat has common rips as all TJ's do.
Recently installed new radiator, water pump, and thermostat. Has a heat shield that rattles at idle, obviously an easy fix. Sway bar end links broke, havn't replaced those yet but also another pretty easy fix, if you wanted to. Paint is starting to peel from the fender flares (resprayed them about 3 years ago), they could use a recoat. Other than that it needs nothing. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor in December 2013. New brakes in October 2013. Typical 4.0L Exhaust manifold leak, but not bad.
Was at one time owned by a volunteer firefighter, has strobes hooked to headlights and siren under hood, but would need to be wired up.
He's looking at a 2014 Silverado, so cash is preferred, but would be happy to entertain trades. Cars, Trucks, Vans, etc. Please feel free to make a reasonable offer. And again, He'll consider trades if it's something he really wants, but he'd have to want it more than the new truck he's looking at, so don't be upset if he's not interested.
Asking $7,500 / BO / trade.
Please feel free to respond or PM with any questions, offers or pic requests.
The pics below were taken summer 2013, with the last few having been taken today, 1/19/2014. I also have a video of a cold startup taken today.
