Yeah, i did a starter for a lady who had one of them siwitches your talkin about. all i had to do is find the unit, arch the wires and then it starts. if theives can find ways to steal cars with coded keys, they are smart enough to figure that out. shoot its sad that most of the theives around these day who steal cars and stereos are not old enough to drive and yet so smart.

The reason to not just have theft coverage is because I don't want the vehicle stolen, adn I don't want to pay a deductable, and I don't want rates to increase, plus auto start is nice :)
It's a waste of $259. If someone wants to steal you XJ (instead of the thousands of other XJ's out there) they are going to do it alarm or no. If you want to deter a lazy theif to move on to another XJ install a blinking LED in the dash or door handle for $10.

Everyone is entitled to thier opinions, but to me its not a waste of money.

I had someone try to steal my liberty in Grosse Pointe Park at 3pm in a residential driveway. That is gutsy. The only reason they failed at puching the door lock is because a neighbor scared him off. I would like to think that a loud alarm may draw too much attention that that type of circumstance, when the neighbor is not watching out. Plus the starter is disabled, plus the LED is flashing on the dash in the interum. Perhaps the path of least resistance is the next guy's jeep.

I agree that is someone really wants it, they will get it, but not the neighborhood kid who is bored and broke, or the crackhead who wants spare change.

Besides, a good remote start kit is around a hundy and a half, so another 100 and I got keyless and an alarm, not bad IMO, especially considering how high my insurance deductable is, plus I get a discount per month with an anti-theft device.

It's in the shop now, I'll get to play with it later today, I will let youze guys know if its not as great as I think.

you could have saved some $$ and went to Mike's marine. with a Boat switch and wire IMO.
