Default AK and AR Pistols... Why?

I've been wondering about this for a long time but never bothered to ask simply because of that age old philosophy of "To each their own."

What's the point of an AR15 or AK47 pistol? I fail to see the usefulness in it. For the guys that bought one... Did you buy it just for range fun and the "cool" factor?

I am by no means ragging on anyone or trying to start a war here. I am honestly curious. I can understand buying one to eventually turn it into a SBR once the law is changed here in Michigan but aside from that I just don't get it.

For the amount of money people sink into these things they could have put together something A LOT more accurate and useful like a Glock 34 or Glock 35 with the works...

Me personally: just for fun.

I thought they were completely useless until I shot one using a single point Sling to stabilize it by pushing it out from my body. Now as good as a rifle, but it's a whole lot smaller. I'll still go the SBR route though.

I was looking into one with the "stabilizing brace" to use as a loophole to the SBR. Once that changes, then IMO there's no need. Doesn't mean I still probably won't get one just for the hell of it. Being able to conceal carry an AR would be pretty sweet.

No different to me on how I want a S&W 500. Absolutely no need for it, but I just want one for the hell of it.

If you should ever graduate from shooting paper to food, a large-bore revolver is a great corn field gun - legal in shotgun zone as well.

If you want a truck rifle it has to be a pistol. MI CPL doesn't apply to concealing a rifle.

I'd spend money on one before spending money to put a bayonet on a shotgun.

.

Who told you they were inaccurate ? I built one because of the SBR thing but afterwards I shoot more than anything else. My friend said what the hell do you want that piece of shit for ? He shot it and guess what ? He built one for himself.
If you go long on the buffer tube you can shoulder it or at least I can. I have a RRA barreled one I build that shoots great. The newer one I built I used a hammer forged barrel and Its not as accurate.

I tell who ever I let shoot it " Don't shoot if you dont want to build one" because you will.

Settle your butthurt. No one is ragging on anyone in this post.

Also... I didn't spend any money to put a bayonet on a shotgun.

I am confused? to me, it would only be fun if it saved me $200 or more building it...any savings less than $200 it becomes not worth it to me and I let them build it

The important part is knowing how the rifle goes togther and being able to service it. Its not rocket science to assemble the lower. The upper is a little more involved but nothing a handy guy or girl couldnt do.

I'm really tempted, just not sure how well Diamondback does with AR stuff considering their handguns are garbage.

http://www.slickguns.com/product/dia...-free-shipping

It was on sale the other day for $699.

I really like the Diamond Back AR's. They seem like a VERY good value in their price range. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I was in the market for another right now.

I'm not really interested in an AK or AR pistol, but I do want a PTR PDW, in either the x51, or x39. A one point sling is kinda a necessity.

How are their handguns garbage? I know the origianal 380 had issues and I think was recalled. but though they fixed it, I have out a few hundred rounds through my db9 without one issue. Its usually my pocket gun in the summer.

ive put $435 into a 7.62x39 ar15 and sold it, $485 into a Romanian G kit, nodak reciever, and fire control group, $540 into the ak pistol build which is also on a nodak reciever. Seeing that these guns are selling anywhere between $750 and $1400, I'd say its saving some bucks.

I also am in the middle of a build of a m4 styled ar that I have not paid a dime for. I need the barrel, bolt group, and fore grip and it will be done. Its being built from my neighbors beer bottle returns.

Prior to me putting the stock and buffer tube on. new frontier lower, psa parts kit, bravo company upper.

Romy G build

My first pistol build, thats on an old reciever I had laying around. Its since been put on a nodak.
