Yeah, I've read that if you go over 2.5 gig a month you are reduced to 2g till the next month. It seems none of the phones from straight talk are 4g capable though. To do that it looks like you've got to get a phone and then purchase a sim card from ST.
For me this would be my first venture into the smart phone world. It's getting kind of old to have to fire up the laptop to do things like check email.
I'm kinda thinking about this phone

Looks like it has "newer" android software and the reviews seem decent and it's not a huge pile 'o cash either.

800mhz processor is not so good. That might be a frustratingly slow phone. I wouldn't get it, but I'm a phone geek.

I think it's boo-bood on the WM site. I think it's a 1ghz from what I can find elsewhere.

Well....I ordered it. Site to store so in a week or so I'll be able to let you know how it does. Being my first venture into the world of smart phones I'm sure it'll be awesome even if it's crappy compared to something better LOL

I've got a Galaxy S2, that is 4G, streams Netflix just fine.

Metro areas are ok. It's when you get to the outlying areas that are questionable. I live in Memphis/Algonac, and work in Richmond, so most people out here hate the service. Being that the vast majority of the people on here visit rural areas pretty regularly, I wouldn't recommend Straight Talk, Metro PCS, or T-Mobile.

I've been using straight talk for 1-1/2 years. I have a ZTE Merit and have never had a problem. I always have service and will keep using it as long as there around.

Well so far so good. When I tried to activate it I was at home and not in my "primary" zip code, that didn't work so well. A half hour on the phone the next day cured that problem.
I knew verizon worked good at home so that why I picked this particular model. I though my old phone had pretty good service but this new one will work in some areas (basement and in my shop) that the old one wouldn't. I know I've been using the hell out of texting. It's going to take me a minute to figure out all of the features but I'm getting there. Not real keen on the battery life but it has no problem getting me through the day, then again I don't stream vids or music either.

Since starting my new job, I've discovered a dead zone between Gladwin and Prudenville on m18. That's with an ATT phone w/ ST sim.
