Can you open the phone up? If so you can check the moisture sensors yourself, usually one on the battery and one nearby the battery compartment. Look like a white square with red stripes or x on it, if it's pure white or pure red it's been "triggered"

I got a tv from best buy and the warranty, tv stopped working. I got a new better tv. Free.
Now when I went in I had called the 1800# on the warranty form first, had the name of the person I had talked to on the phone. At first best buy only wanted to "pay" for some of my new tv. I then told the sales person about the phone call and the info I was given on the phone. He then asked who I had talked to, gave him her name and it all worked out. Not sure why but i guess it helps to have as much info as you can first, and names.

btw I now buy all my electronics from as small and local a store as I can.

Didn't think it was that big of a secret I think the bigger issue you have is that they mistrained one of their employees who then told you incorrect information about the coverage of a replacement plan thats probably through a 3rd party company and they have to get permission from them before they can repair/replace it, and that employee doesn't get scheduled enough hours if he doesn't sell a certain amount of warranties, as they're essentially completely profit.

And no Best buy does not work on commission but if they hit certain sales goals they do get bonuses, not to mention spiffs from manufacturers for selling their product.

As 90% of the people that say that are back in the next week or two, maybe if more people were like you the consumers would actually have a say in getting true customer service back. Having worked in retail I can say that you're clearly a shitbag employee who thinks he is entitled to make more than he does simply for showing up to work with a shitty attitude.

I dealt with many an upset customer throughout my "retail career" and never treated any of them like shit like you describe.

ok mine still has all the red x's and doesn't appear to have been completely wet. The biggest problem I'm having is they haven't even looked at my phone. It was in my otterbox and landed in the water just long enough to get a little wet. Because I wasn't " that guy" and told the truth, they won't even look at my phone. It could be as easy as replacing a very inexpensive sensor, but to them it doesn't matter because I told the truth. My phone still works most of the time it just randomly shuts itself off. If I'm not paying attention to it it could be off for hours and that's something I cannot have beings as I have kids and you never know when something will happen.

When I worked for circuit city I made $7.50 an hour. Very quickly I could not have given a fukc about how any customer was treated, and instead took every opportunity to ignore them and chat with friends that I worked with. Once the managers realized for $7.50 an hour I had next to 0 fucks to shed, they became increasingly shitty with me, so I found another job.

I was 20 and I was only there for 6-7 months. I never worked in retail ever again.
