Won't sign...I understand family and friends reasoning, but a petition does nothing in this case other than wasting people's time

I am more than willing to waste the 10 seconds it takes to do it Even of it does nothing other than show the family that there are still people thinking about them.

A fund raiser for a PI would probably be more effective.

I'm not trying to solve the case, I'm just sharing what they have already started. It popped up on Facebook and was quick and easy to sign. It's not like you are out anything by signing.

I know. I just don't have much faith in handing it from one government agency to another with bigger, more important issues.

My only thoughts with it going to the FBI is that it may be linked to other cases and the connection was never put together. What has been done so far hasn't resulted in finding her so what does it hurt to try something different?

Except maybe hurting the family more when the realize no matter how many people they get to sign their petition their case will not get "transferred" to anyone. That is not how investigations work or are how they are handled. People love to blame the investigators for not doing enough, yet have never investigated a thing a day in their life. They have no idea how many man hours are spent chasing nothing, or turning nothing into something. Missing person cases are very emotional and family's need to place blame on someone, often times its placed on the investigators, which is neither fair or productive. The only thing it does is create distrust between them and the family.

You are most likely completely correct but I am not the family so it isn't in my court to figure out how it is handled. The way I see it is I will throw support towards whatever way they see fit. If it were my daughter I would hope people would do the same for me.

Signed it.

Even if it's only a token gesture, this is still someone's child.

Damn. She looks very young. But everyone under 30 looks very young to me now.

This makes me even sadder knowing there is a child missing their mom.
