Real quick update:

I just finished charging the pack and battery number one and was finally able to try it out. I went with the Vivid Vanilla cartridge to try first and I have to say... Holy shit this tastes good. It tastes like an extremely rich, creamy homemade artisan vanilla ice cream.

Fuck tobacco cigarettes.

Felt like my lungs were totally clogged with cotton and I was coughing shit up like crazy and could barely breathe. I switched to Marlboro Lights and was fine for a year or so but that just ended up in the full rejection I experienced with the Reds. Now I've been smoking Ultra-Lights and am hitting that same rejection point. Can barely breathe and am coughing up shit constantly.

I actually did quit for a little bit when I was still in the Army. I enrolled in a clinical study that was a combination of hospital grade nicotine patches and mandatory phone counseling once a week. I quit for about three weeks and I still can't believe the night and day difference in how much better I felt. It was INSANE. I can't wait to get back to that point again. From what I've been hearing and reading... since the USA made liquid/gel is extremely simple and has no harmful chemicals other than the nicotine itself your lungs actually do start the healing process the same as if you just quit completely.
Wasn't this right here enough for you to realize you should just quit smoking?

I still can not fathom how these things are any "healthier" for you than a regular cigarette, espescially if you are sitting there puffing on it for hours at a time.

Did you read the ingredients break down on the cartridge? Compare the ingredients in one of these e-cig cartridges to a real cigarette.

Also,

I know I need to quit. When you've been smoking for a decade or more... It isn't as simple as you guys in lala land want to make it seem.

I'm also not understanding why some people are attacking others for making a choice that puts them on the road to a healthier life and quitting tobacco.

I absolutely agree with you SS. It is not something that I am going to do forever, just a method to help me quit. They honestly do help out a ton, and I feel a lot better than I did when I smoked tobacco.

To some, this is no different than choosing unhealthy crap fad diets to lose weight instead of making the right lifestyle changes.

If it eventually helps you quit, I'm all for it though.

BTW, there is nothing healthy about artificial flavors and other unlisted crap that are in those things. Healthier than a tobacco cigarette? Sure.

I smoked on and off for over 10 years.

Started in High School. did it with the cool kids and at parties. Also smoked "with the guys" cause it was the cool thing to do when I worked pouring concrete over the summers. Went to college, kept smoking, had a room mate and suite mates who smoked. It never bothered my ability to mountain bike or go out hiking or snowboarding or fishing or whatever while in college so I didn't seem to care. I quit a time or two but not ever for extremely long. Had a son, quit smoking, lasted a year or two. Got divorced, started smoking again. Smoked for a while after getting divorced, finally I realized how stupid it really was and just quit. Cold Turkey, stopped, never picked up another cigarette.

No quit aids, no gums, no patches, no e-cigs, no nothing.

As far as your e-cig label comment, I don't need to read it to know it "could" be better for you than a normal cigarette. That's great, but it still can not be very good for you. That's all I am saying. I don't trust the idea much. If it helps great, but too many of you guys are all this is so great I'm not smoking anymore and this is just awesome I puffed on it for an hour and I love it.

I applaud the efforts to quit, but don't think you have quit until you have quit.

The guys I know that have switched to the e-cig puff on it more than they ever did real cigarettes. My thoughts are they are getting WAY more nicotine, which is going to make it even harder to quit.

It's about taking the steps. No matter what we're all moving forward towards that same goal. Cutting people down because they didn't take as big of a step (in improving THEIR lives) as you feel they should is out of line. It really is. This has absolutely no bearing on your life. If you can't add anything positive then just don't add anything at all. It's counterproductive to the people who are actually doing something.

1. It's not about taking steps, it's about quitting.
2. I am cutting down nothing, I am giving a no bullshit real life perspective on it. You're only fooling yourself if you think puffing on that E-Cig for an hour is any better than smoking 2-3 real cigs during that time.

It's exactly like greasemonkey compared it to weightloss. You can go on the adkins diet, or the sout beach diet or the no carbs diet or the whatever the fukc you want diet. The only magical diet pill is "eat healthy and exercise". The only magical quit smoking pill is "quit fucking smoking and quit making excuses". That's it. Decide you are going to quit and fucking quit.

You are contributing nothing to this thread. This is not a "real life perspective" on this issue. You seem to believe you have some sort of superiority over everyone else concerning this topic and that if someone doesn't do exactly what you say and how you say to do it they are idiots and worthless.

You have absolutely nothing over anybody in this thread. You have stated your opinion on the topic. You can stop attacking people for not agreeing with you now. Move on.
