Default Anyone have straight talk for cell service?

Just wondering.....
I'm looking to upgrade what I've got now (simply a phone and nothing more) to something made in this century.
From what I have read depending on the device you get there are multiple carriers on the "plan". I'd be looking at one that's (hopefully) supported by verizon without the verizon price.
What say ye? Good, bad, ugly, run like hell?

Run like hell.

Straight talk and most of the other little groups are owned by the same company that provides Obamaphones. It's basically one of the largest money funneling schemes in recorded history. Those companies are all owned by a man named Carlos Slim. He's one of the richest men in the world and managed to get his dirty claws into a big chunk of our Treasury by very very very quietly lobbying for the expansion of the government subsidized cell phone program.

People come in to my store complaining about straight talk all the time, along with metro pcs and t-mobile. You get what you pay for with cell phone service. Pony up the dough and at least get a prepaid on one of the big three.

I have one, using it right now. No real complaints here.

I also use straight talk. Here in Northern MI, I sometimes wish the service was a little better, but for 45$ a month its more than satisfactory for unlimited talk, text, and data.

I bought a used AT&T Iphone 4s, got a straight talk sim card, and set it up. No big deal.

Check out pageplus. They are prepay and we have had very good luck with them. At least 7 people in the family have them for their service provider and all give them a good review, some after having bad luck with straight talk in the past.

T-mobile has been great for me. My data speeds are 20-35 meg down almost everywhere around the metro Detroit area. Voice service has been great too.

My wife has had straight talk for over a year. During a three day kayak trip she had the most consistant and strongest signal than the 15 other people we where with all with different sevices, when my phone dies I will be getting straight talk.

Both my wife and I have Straight Talk phones, both Samsung phones, I have a Galaxy S2 and she gas a smaller one. Never had any problems, though if you watch a lot of video(Netflix). They will shut off the data plan, until your next plan cycle. Other than that, I've had service where other people couldn't get a signal out in the woods. They are owned by Tracphone and use the ATT towers up here.

So let me get this straight...

I can have unlimited talk, text and data with pretty decent coverage for $50 a month? On top of that I can use any SIM card phone I might have with this service?

Actually it's 45$ a month, but you can get a discount on top of that if you do the auto-refill system, which is what I do.

You can actually check the phones that they use on their website.

Well I have my Verizon Droid Razr MAXX HD just sitting here. It uses a SIM card... would I be able to just swap the Verizon SIM card for the Straight Talk one?

What about this dicey little propaganda piece you just posted though? Are your morals so easily swayed by a cheap cell phone plan?

Although its unlimited data its something like 2gigs at 4g speed then you get throttled back to 2g speed until your next month is paid for.

I have used it for a few years. Mine is att service. Only real restriction is keep it under 2 gigs a month and try to keep it bellow 100mb per day. I do a lot of email, craigslist and google and have never had a problem.....

I am using an atrix 4g right now and looking for an upgrade (artix hd, htc one, note, s2 or s3??).
