I still use the c9 Christmas lights, I like how they look under fresh snow.

I go all out with the Christmas lights just like my dad did when I was a kid(and still does) and my grandpa did. But, it's probably stupid, I just don't get that same emotional, reminiscent effect when I look at all of the LED's that I remember of Christmas lights being a kid.

I think they look cool as hell, and they sure are a lot more efficient to use, but they just don't feel as warm.

As much as I hate that shit hole most of mine have came from Walmart. Every year they get cheaper. Kmart has some pretty awesome Black Friday weekend sales on their LEDs as well each year. They are usually pretty tough to get, not LCD TV hard to get, but don't expect them to make it through the whole weekend in stock. I've also had good luck with the LEDs from Big Lots. Usually they run a few decent sales.

By far the best deal is hitting a place like Walmart the day after Christmas. I went last year on my way in to work when it was like me, the workers, and 3 other people in the store.

My goal is to someday have enough lights to be able to do the few big pine trees that we have in our yard. Someday...

I think this weekend I'm going to start getting my stuff out and start putting stuff up.
X??3? I like the 'old' lights. I've had the same incandescent strands for probably 5 years and have lost one or two over that period. Mostly to ice. I have a very old bigger bulb strand that I got from my dad. He used to put it up when I was 5 or 6.

I've always loved putting the Christmas lights up. I'm really looking forward to it this year because my son will probably get to 'help' (as much as a 2 and half year old can).

I don't go quite as crazy as I have in the past because I live on grounds at the camp I work at and I don't pay for the electricity. Although I'm hesitant, I'll probably start phasing out the old strands and getting LED's for the sake of saving the camp some money.

I like the blue domes, they throw cool blue circles all over like a disco ball.

I think this year I might start getting more different colors. The big box stores only seem to carry the standard fare, whites, multi, blue, red, green, sometimes purple.

English Gardens has all sorts of crazy different colors. But they are spendy.

I just bought my house and first bunch of Xmas lights last year. They worked great, I wanna buy a few more strands for the rest of the length of my house.

While we are talking here...

I know I'm white trash. I love all of the multi color lights, lots of them. But seriously, if you are just going to go out and throw 100 lights on a bush or run one strand down your porch just don't fucking bother. It just looks like shit and makes you seem lazy. Thanks.

I ended up going to the depot and took advantage of the $5 off for each old strand you bring back. I went through all my old lights and turned in all the non-working ones for the credit. Nearly $350 later I walked out with 2000 ish multi-colored LEDs
