It is what it is which is a posi. I know of a few people that run them with automatics(I run a manual) and they like them more but they can apply some brake pressure to help it lock up but I don't have 3 feet
They are practically indestructible and should help your stock shafts live though
I would definitely recommend some spicer joints too if you aren't already running them

So you cut off the rockers and installed rectangular tube sliders? How/where is that tubing welded to the unibody?

I myself just did to rec tube rockers. They are welded all the way around and then tie into the leaf spring mounts and once I get my plating on. They will tie into the unibody with 2x2x .250 square tube just under the A and B pillar. Once it was welded up to the point we got it now, we wrer able to jack the xj by the hoist with no problem. Overkill is in order though, so extra bracing is a must imo.
