Saw this on the news as well. Looked pretty sketchy. Reminds me of some sort of gta mission.

I am curious which pilot is going to be found at fault.

Incredible no one got killed.

Glad everyone is ok. Go Pro style cameras have changed the "worlds scariest video" and fail type videos and shows forever. They also seem to be extremely helpful in situations like this in determining what caused the issue.

They all had parachutes and were prepared to jump out of the plane. Not being a smartass (I know, unusual) but I bet that had a lot to do with their survival.

I am sure it did. Without skydiving skills there is no way that they could have dodged flaming pieces of twisted plane or dodge out of balance spinning propellers.

I think it was set up. The pilots had parachutes on, I am not sure, but I don't think that is normal.

You should introduce the idea of nascar drivers wearing parachutes as an extra safety precaution.

I bet the pilot got sick of hearing the lame 'jumping out of a perfectly good airplane' line.

From a friend of mine who skydives often, they were attempting to do a formation, and it is common for the planes to fly close when releasing the jumpers. 2nd pilot took his eyes off the first plane for a few seconds, that's all it took.

. In hot air ballooning, the balloon on bottom - lower altitude has the right away. The balloon on the bottom can't see because the girth of the envelope blocks any chance of seeing above it. I would guess it is the same with planes. Seems to me it is tougher to see above than below.
