That's why i didn't get the Maxx. Its basically just extra storage. And a little better battery (maybe). Don't need it

Also I added the app juice defender to my phone and I can almost go 2 full days without a charge. Also when snowmobiling, I try and bury the phone under a few layers of jacket/bibs and clothing. Last season a few times I stuck the phone in the inside pocket of my jacket and it seemed to die in no time.
Juice defender isn't needed on Android anymore. Current stock Android manages memory just fine.

The 2.5 year old phone mentioned earlier is a dinosaur unfortunately. I'm thinking OG Evo about then.

Still no charge since 6am. Heavy use. All the bells and wistles on. Love this phone.

Also. Got it in July. So its not brand new anymore. Still going strong...

does buying the phone outright save you monthly?

I paid I think 99 bucks for my razor HD. The maxx I think was 299. both my wife and i have one. we had the S3's and iphone 4s's and evo's. By far the razor hd's are the best phones we have had yet.

I'm with Tmobile, and they don't have contacts anymore. You can still pay the 199 or whatever for a new phone, but the remaining $500b or whatever gets split into 24 monthly payments and added to your bill. They also have a program called "jump". $10/month includes full boogie insurance, and the ability to upgrade every 6 months to new phones for the typical 200ish price. You just have to give them your old phone. Good for phone geeks who get every new phone.

I thought about a couple of the droids when my 4s had a cabrewing incident. For me it honestly came down to how big the droids are. I like being able to put my phone in any pocket or cup holder lol.

I carry my razor in my pocket all day. Fits fine in the Buick and jeep cup holder. I couldn't do a Samsung tablet sized thing!

Wife wants s3 or Droid mini. Based solely on $49 price tag. She's not a phone geek. Which is more reliable? Functionally they seem very well matched.

Battery on s3 is terrible especially if you use it throughout the day. If I used mine at all it wouldn't last through the day...

do NOT get an S3. do not do not do not. Spend the extra $150 for the S4. For something you will use hours a day for two years (or longer) this is a small price to pay. Co worker had one of those, it was horrible. He loves his S4.

Here you go. I purposely did not put my phone on the QI charger last night.

During this battery cycle:
Wifi and bluetooth were on 1 d, 8h, 59 minutes
GPS on for 3h, 31 minutes
screen on 7h, 21 minutes
charging on 0m
awake 9h, 03 minutes
total mobile data used: 193.37MB
total wifi data used: 471.28MB (google music caching while at the office)
4g 1 d, 3h, 37 minutes
3g 4h, 21 minutes <--- I was in BFE last night for about that long.
no signal, 1m

I use this phone exactly how I used my iphone's, and I would have to plug in my iphone every single work day between 1pm and 2pm because it would be under 20% charged. If I turned off blue tooth, and wifi except when I needed it I could extend this battery life roughly 20% more as well.

I am sold on the battery on the maxx. I don't mind plugging my phone in overnight but I hate having to plug it in mid day

As for the other phone S3 vs Droid Mini or whatever it was she looked at I don't really care what she gets, as long as it is not going to be notorious for reliability issues.

I got a full day easily on my s3. It's a great phone. Usually when people bitch to me about their phone, I find rogue apps, frequent sync settings, etc. Sure the s4 is better though. My wife is still rocking an S2 and gets a day out of it.

This is not true. I have an S3 through work and I go a couple days between charges. Now having said that, I would not buy an S3 with my own money.
