Default Play station 4 or xbox one?

I have a 360 now that is in rough shape and my birthday/Christmas is upon us. I pretty much just play shooters as of now but I know the newer consoles have many other non gaming features I may want. The plat station looks to be cheaper and available sooner.

Haven't looked into the 4 at all. I probably won't purchase one, at least for a while. I honestly couldn't tell you what I think of the new consoles. I have just always had play stations and enjoyed the library of games. sorry, I'm of no real help.

You are a grown man, almost 40 and you want a kids game for Christmas. Man up and tell your wife you want some ammo or guns or something for the jeep.

Xbox one is becoming more of a home theater experience and will offer alot of other features than just games... Have you watched the xbox one videos yet ? They were on the 360 home screen for a while. I haven't looked much into the PS4 but a guy i work with (devoted xbox guy) said he will be making the switch to ps4

First off, I hide all gun and ammo purchases from both the wife and the government, especially the wife.
Second, these consoles do a lot more than games nowadays old man. They are blue ray players, play games, and act as very large external storage devices. They hold photos, movies, tv shows, and allow you to stream from Hulu, YouTube, Netflix ect.

My 14 year old son and nearly all of his buddies currently have a Xbox 360 and every one of them will be switching to the PS4 when it comes out. He claims the PS4 is going to be a lot better. I'm not sure about that, but those boys have spent a lot time playing on the Xbox and the fact that they are jumping ship for the Playstation says something.

I'd really like to know why they think it's better. I just got into these things with my 360. my last system was the original Nintendo.

I've always been a fan of PS. The only real difference is when you play the shooter games do you want to play online? The Xbox live is better than the PlayStation network. I never play online, mainly driving games and such. Plus the 360 wasn't a blueray player when we bought the ps3.

How are those? I was honestly thinking of one. I'm interested in some of the titles they have currently released.

Tossing around the idea of a ps3 or xbox for the kids for christmas. I don't have home internet so don't care about online gaming. Which one is better?

Pockets full of quarters......

I like the real arcade machines, I have a somewhat rare Bally electromechanical pinball machine, and a Pong style hockey game, unfortunately the game boards are gone in that one so I plan to convert the cabinet into a PC based MAME machine- with quarter mechanism.

As far as game consoles, if you are looking to have the console as the centerpiece of a home entertainment system, the xbox one is probably your better choice.
