Default Wtb XDs

I'm not very active in the firearms scene but I am looking to pick up a 9mm for carrying.

After reading I want to try an XDs 9. But I read there is a recall that was issued a few months ago.

I called a couple shops and they do not have any in stock and are not receiving shipments on them.

Does anyone know of any in stock anywhere that are post-recall? Or does someone want to sell theirs? MSRP is $599 for the black, is that about what they are selling for?

You probably wont find a post recall new pistol in a shop for some time as they are still working on the thousands of recalled guns.

Have you shot one yet?

They do have excellent reputations (recall aside) but since you aren't very big on firearms you may discover it is NOT what you wanted.

They are great shooting guns, but if you're not accustomed to shooting small handguns you'll definitely want to shoot it first.

I have not shot it yet and wanted to test it out first but if I shot it and liked it, I wanted to buy it right away and not really like a gun and not be able to get it.

I'll take a look at the shield

I have a XDs 9 with around 700 rounds of 9mm, all the xd gear, and pierce grip extensions on both mags I have been thinking of selling. I love the gun, it shoots amazing just want to get another 40. And it has not been sent out for the recall. I didn't send it in due to the fact that they have been out for well over a 1.5 years without any issues before now.

We can point out "good" carry guns for days. A M&P has nothing in common with a XDS. I am failing to see why you thought your post was helpful?

If you purchase a handgun from a private seller, you have to go to the city PD and notify them of the purchase, correct?

But if you buy from a dealer and you have a ccw permit, they take care of that, right? No need to go to the city PD?

If you don't have a CPL, you need to go get a purchase permit for a private transaction. If you have a CPL, you just fill out the RI-60 form in triplicate and drop off the MSP copy to your local PD.

If you buy from an FFL, they do all the paperwork but you still need to drop off the MSP copy to your local PD.

Just got my .45 back from the recall yesterday. Not sure I'll notice much of a difference (if there is any. I suspect the trigger mechanism was modified but have yet to see anything in writing as to what actually was done.) as I only had a dozen or few rounds through it when teh recall came out.

I picked up new post recall xds 9 at Jays in Clair for anyone who is interested. They had a couple more too. All the places I called SE Michigan said they had no idea when they would get them in.
