Default 4.2l i6... carb swap

I am about to swap my original carb on my 258 but I dont know which one is best or why. Any thoughts on a good replacement that will keep me from stalling or sputtering?

I did the MC2100 swap thats well documented around the interwebs. Im pretty happy with it overall. No sputtering or stalling. On road or off. I did the swap the same time as an HEI distributor so it's hard to say which had the bigger positive impact on how it runs

I went all the way and did a howel FI conversion. Obviously more expensive, but mine has never run better.

I also did the 2100 swap and have been very happy with it once I got it set up correctly. At first I bought a used 1.08 venturi Motorcraft 2100 that included a mr gasket adapter (junk) and size 50 jets, which were to big for my set up. I got a new adapter from GRONK which was a perfect fit, rejeted it with #47 jets (from Allstate carb http://www.allcarbs.com ) and added the electric choke. It runs excellent now and I was able to modify my stock air cleaner for a clean look.

Also, if you haven't done the nutter bypass and the HEI or Juice Box Ignition upgrades, they are also highly recomended...

Here are a few pic's that show my set up and show all the wires and computer you can remove by doing the nutter...

Good luck with your project.
