I also love beer, I enjoy them while in the pole barn staying warm with one of my pellet stoves.

I did the same thing...got the pellet burner installed in the wood shop on the second floor of one of the garages. Actually a pretty easy install. It was more work getting it upstairs then actually getting the install done because it's so heavy. Now to add some insulation and we'll be all set for the long winter. Another place to get away and do something other than watch TV.

And I had to add a bunch of electrical though too. When I moved in, it had 2 light bulbs and one wall plug. Now I have 2 banks of lights and a dozen wall plugs.

How well do these pellet stoves work when the power goes out?

^ My baby magnum would run off 12 volts. I never had to use it that way though.

It is just a 120v plug to run it. You could probably run an extension cord off a power inverter in your car. A lot easier than getting a natural gas furnace to run when he power goes out.

Just as good as your natural or propane gas furnace would.

Mine has provisions to run off a 12v deep cycle battery in the event of a power outage.

Bumping this up for a new year. I am moving into a place that only has a very small wood stove that doesn't even make it through the night, and a junk propane furnace. I am looking into this pellet stove.

https://shop.familyfarmandhome.com/p...ab50-1739.html

Any new input on pellet stoves from people?

we have that stove in our house. Works well and we like the large hopper and easy cleaning set-up. We did have to fix a couple things, but they were sensors like any heater has. Troubleshooting it was easy on you-tube and parts were cheap on egay. We just ran a jumper while the new parts were on there way....
