Jeremy is on this site. He fell through a roof earlier this year. He's ok now, except he walks like a pimp.

I don't remember his screen name here though

Another thumbs up for Barry1me's recommendation of Alloy Gutters.

A few hours after i called them they had already sent somebody out to take measurements and give an estimate - I'm still waiting on two of the other installers I called 2 weeks ago to even call me back! And their price was great.

I called them back yesterday because my wife and I finally decided on a color and they were out at 8:00 a.m. this morning and got to work and were done by lunchtime.

Now I just want it to rain so I can watch the gutters do their magic...

In my line of work I hear "wow, you guys actually showed up" so often. How are these other contractors staying in business?

I had a contractor at my house about a month ago that promised a quote "next week". Still waiting. The thing that's odd is that he already did some work for me that he was paid in cash on completion and this is just an extension of the previous work. One would think that he would realize it's a done deal & all he has to do is put out the quote.

I've had this problem so often in the last few years - electricians, roofers, carpenters, snowplows, lawn care, etc. And it doesn't seem to matter if it's a big company or just some guy working on his own.

It's totally understandable that business may be booming for you, but my god, return a phone call and at least tell me you are not looking for more business!

Since the thread got bumped, I may as well bump this post. I never heard back from him. I paid cash for the first part of the work and all he had to do was follow up with the second quote and he would have most likely gotten the job, also paid in cash. huh.......

We have the same problem down here. Called 6 contractors for quotes, and one will show up. Post pics of the roof!

With these gutter guards, how well do they work at a house surrounded by trees? I had a company quote me out some stainless steel mesh gutter guards. I have the ones that go under the shingle and have stainless steel mesh and those just cake up with leaves and debris. The quote was also for $5000 which i found insanely high considering all the gutters were already in place.

lol sorry

i miss calling people back quite a bit, honestly when you get enough calls and can't afford a secretary it is insanely hard to keep up on. on top of that, well over half of the calls i get are for price shoppers (cheap) or just a complete pain in the ass.

I do hate it when i jot down a number/note on the go for what could have been a decent job, only to find it a month later in a pile of receipts, under my seat etc.
