Default Billy Graham

Has some interesting things to say.
Are we living in the last days? He and many others seem to think so.
What do you think?
Oh and one more thing, as Scott would say, flame suit on and zipped up.

It is a bit of a read but worth it. The one book by Cahn is really good, The Harbinger. It describes our country from 9/11 to 2008 and what just might happen in 2014/15.
It makes you think about what's to come and how long do we have.

When haven't Evangelical Christians thought we were close to end times?

Also, according to Jesus or J-dog as I like to refer to him, he told folks during his time that he would be returning within their lifetime, so if anything he's awfully late.

I think he also said that no one would know when he's coming back, so anyone that claims to know must be lying.

He didn't say he knew the date or hour but he did say the time is ripe which I agree with.

The time has been ripe for as long as I can remember (about 26 years)

I'm not discounting what Mr Grahm is saying, however, my opinion is that when people get older they tend to think 'the world is coming to an end'. You never see a 6 year old talking about the 'signs of the times' or anything like that.

I think there are definate signs and they are showing up more frequently, but I don't think I'll expierence the rapture first hand on earth. Does it really matter though?

Jesus said "no one shall know the time or place....." so why worry? We can't do anything to stop it, we can only work at 'saving' as many of our loved ones as we can before it happens. That's what I don't get about people fixated on 'the end times'. They act as if there is anything we can do about it. As if they can change the outcome by preaching more or saying our nation is too sinful. Sinful or not, our nation is going to fall when it happens. It's going to happen.

Billy has preached the same end of times are here shit since the early 50's at least. The times and signs are always right if you want them to be.

Here is the reality: There have always been signs of the times. After Jesus ascended into heaven and promised the Holy Spirit in his absence, the disciples were expecting his return during their lives. Since then we have considered the same reality because the Lord told us his return will land on us as a thief in the night.

More importantly: The only sign that Jesus told us to consider is the sign of Jonah. All others (ex: blood moon) are for an adulterous people. If we need to look for a sign, look for the sign of Jonah (which has already happened, but is is a reminder).

So in regards to Billy, he sees things getting worse every decade he is alive. So is he wrong for saying that the return of Christ is not far? No he is not, because it will come as a surprise regardless of the actual day and time (and as it was stated, none of us are capable of knowing that hour).

So what do we do? We live each day obeying Jesus Christ. Repenting of our sins, living as the image-bearers he made us to be, and being aware that this is all about Him and not about us. Let us be ready and pleased for his return, that we may resurrect as he did and join his Kingdom eternal (sign of Jonah).

That's an easy out. There is always something one can use to justify the time being ripe.
