Default North Dakota Scam

gassing up at a local station in Jamestown ND. pump on super slow pumping while i clean windshield. next thing the pump is pouring gas on ground and guy at next pump turns off my pump. thanks. 5 seconds later the store clerk in out there in my face...'is that gas on the ground? there's a $20.00 cleanup fee for spilled gas. it's on the pump "do not leave vehicle unattended" i say i did not leave vehicle unattended, was washing windows, your pump failed to shut off ( there was, my guess, less than 1/2 gal on the pavement. she is there with mostly empty bag of kitty litter stuff, dumping it all over. i say i am not paying, it's your pump that failed. she sez "i am calling police" i say "okay" and wait. after discussion, cop tells me it's a civil matter and he cannot enforce the rules of a business nor force me to pay the 20.00. i say okay and leave for michigan. am waiting for a call from the gasoline company. i think she made a living on the side by intimidating people into paying her the 20.00 off the books.

Something tells me they would be the one getting fined if the people who regulate that caught them with a defective pump.

I wasn't even looking at my phone when i took this, I was just holding the button. It took 10 shots continually and I picked the best one.

What's more amazing to me is the exacting specs those things have to be built to between the blade tip end thickness and crazy exacting weights. And then just ship it down the road. I know they are normally shrink wrapped but a small rock can truly fukc up the balance

That thing wasn't shrink wrapped. And they don't have to worry about a small rock hitting that thing, they need to worry about a small car bouncing up and hitting it.

It's essentially a giant wing.

I got talking to a trucker who was hauling one, says they have to position it just right on the trailer or else it tries to fly.

Next time I drive by one I'll get a video, the tip of the wing is dancing all over the place.

You do realize they are not allowed to travel on the road at night or on the weekends, that doesn't leave much time for them to get their job done.

ND is nuts about spills but seeing as how this isn't a recordable I doubt you will get a call.

I learned a long time ago to not walk away from the pump at old shitty gas stations out west. Was this at a Sinclair? Their pumps never work for shit...
