Between its good styling, and mike rowe repeating 40 mpg 500 times per commercial and the showing off of how awesome the newest and greatest ford sync infotainment system was, their marketing was spot on.

The car didn't live up to the hype.

If I could turn it in with out a huge loss and a puckered asshole I wouldn't have Jessica's focus any longer either.

Well that and the cruze doesn't come in a hatchback.

No just pointing out the fact you are never happy about anything, and you can always find the fault in anything, even though one may not exist

That's not true.

I don't have any complaints about any of the silverado's I've owned, I liked my H3, Subaru, grand prix's, XJ's, TJ's, I have multiple bikes I like and don't have complaints about, etc.

I felt the focus was highly over marketed and over rated and regretted the purchase. Simple as that.

I actually own a Focus ST and have put 15k miles on it since October, so I believe I may be able to answer OP's question and not just say how awesome or shitty a regular Focus DCT is.

I think it is a great car overall, it is decently fast, handles very well and I get about 27 MPG combined. That being said, it does have its share of issues.

-The brakes create an inordinate amount of dust in a very short period of time, plan on cleaning your wheels every week or two. If you're buying new wheels and tires, make sure to get grey or black.
-The brakes are very sensitive at slow speeds.
-Turning circle is almost 40'. This is honestly the biggest problem I have with the car, for some reason the ST has a 4' larger turning circle than a regular Focus.
-The lower motor mount (engine roll restrictor) is the same as the regular Focus, which is tuned for NVH and is very soft. This creates wheel hop and on hard 1-2 shifts the eye in the mount will hit the body of the mount making a loud clunk. Aftermarket makes stiffer mounts and the BEV Focus mount is supposed to be stiffer as well.
-The wheels are super weak. With 40 series tires, weak cast wheels and shitty Michigan roads, plan on denting some wheels if you don't replace them. I've dented 2 already. I guess I'm too used to big sidewalls.
-MyFord Touch is pretty much junk. The version on the car when I got it was unbearable, 3.5 was a little better and I just updated to 3.6 and it seems marginally better as well. It has a lot to be desired, but it is something that you can learn to live with.
-The gas pedal is too low. It is much lower than the brake pedal, so heel-toe shifting is a little difficult. I have read of people putting a shim under the pedal to fix this, but it is worth noting.
-If you have broad shoulders or a large waist, the seats can be a little tight.

Even with all the issues, I wouldn't have picked any other vehicle. Mine has every option but heated seats, HIDs and ambient lighting and it cost me $26,000 (A-Plan). There is nothing that compares to it in the same price range new.

Geeez..........
So glad I bought a Fiesta. I wanted something that was slow, great gas mileage, cheap, and not able to get out of its own way.
It is everything I expected!

What do you get for gas mileage in your fiesta? I thought I remember reading somewhere that the fiesta and focus got similar mileage....

Kinda funny, my tractor died yesterday, I still haven't complained about that purchase, because I feel like I got what I paid for. Yet, I still don't feel like I got what ford's commercial's promised I would get when I bought a focus.

That said, Jessica is without a car for at least two days because (according to her) the car needs a whole new clutch and the transmission rebuilt.

Now, I don't know the actual extent of the repairs needed, but, I don't figure a car with less than 30K highway miles should need a new clutch/and or transmission rebuilt/replaced.

I drive primarily highway so I do hit 38, 39, 40, and sometimes 41mpg(weekly).

Fiesta and Focus do get similar mileage. Difference is the Fiesta actually gets it.

1. I don't know, I have not seen the car or the quote.
2. I don't care the car is barely a year and a half old, it should have working heat.

Strut plates and wheel bearing replaced today. Quite an awesome car with only 34,000 miles on it.
