I've got to quite telling people how awesome this car is. Before I know it, I won't be able to plug in at the movie theatre anymore because all of the plugs will be in use.
I have been seeing a lot of these things out on the road lately.

It looks like the awesome lease deals are done though.

Today's driving. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten 50+ if I hadn't done any highway driving because when I had 20 miles left, I had only gone 20 miles (only about 5 highway miles at 80 with the defrost on). Everything after that was all city.

Bill update.... Went up $30. I did some numbers and I averaged 33kw per day total home use, which correlates to my projected 5kwh car use per day. My rates are pretty horrible after the first 600kw so I'm guessing that's why it's higher than the $20 or so I was projecting. I really need to get the new meter with time based rates, but I keep forgetting to call consumers.... Need to move that up on my priority list.

Well, I can't get one.

Seems that when you try to sell your house in a soft market because you can't afford it, and the mortgage company decides it's cheaper for them to write it off than foreclose, it totally fucks your credit.

If I had declared bankruptcy instead, I'd be in good shape.

I bet!

Funny thing- I can buy a Volt, but I can't lease one. Buying comes in around $400/month, and I refuse to pay that much per month for a car. That would more than negate any fuel savings.

I've decided that I'm just going to buy my wife a 97 Escort- it'll get decent mileage, and I don't give to shits what happens to a 97 Escort.

The "loaded" is pushing you up that high. Essentially every 1000 extra from base is another $30/mo on your lease.

The info posted about kool seem to indicate good deals can still be had. I sort of regret not getting mine from kool, they were much nicer to deal with than berger. I actually drove up there the first time I drove a volt, because the jerks at berger didn't have very desirable customer service. I went in asking if they had any volts and three guys sort of looked around at each other, and said "Yeah I think we have one" then went back to what they were doing. I asked if I could see it and was told "Its out right now" and again they went back to what they were doing. No "sure, lets find out when its coming back", or anything remotely approaching decent customer service. I said "ok" and left. The wife and I left and drove up to kool where they guy was nice to deal with.

Like I said, I regret not getting it from kool, but berger was closer and they did a sweet trade on my truck which sealed the deal. I never even told kool about my trade, figured I would just sell outright, but I was able to use that "no trade in" quote to leverage a better trade deal with berger. Pretty sure they lost their ass on that truck.... at least I hope they did.
